Radiant Barrier

We can install 97% reflective Radiant Barrier to your home! Combined with insulation, you can dramatically reduce your home’s demand for cooling and heating energy.

Radiant Barrier works by reflecting infrared heat away from penetrating into your home. Infrared light from the sun is THE source of heat for our planet and is what produces hot air when it contacts the atmosphere and objects. Your electricity usage is reduced in the summer when infrared (radiant heat) is reflected away from your home, because the heat load inside your home is reduced. By reflecting infrared back into your home in the winter, your home stays warmer and uses less energy doing so.

How Does Attic Insulation in the Dallas Area Save Money?

Insulation simply provides resistance to heat flow. The more heat flow resistance your insulation provides, the lower your heating and cooling costs. Heat naturally flows from warmer to cooler spaces. In the winter, this heat flow moves directly from all heated living spaces to unheated attics, garages and even to the outdoors. During the cooling season, heat flows from the outdoors to the interior of a house.

To maintain comfort, the heat lost in the winter must be replaced by your heating system. The heat gained in the summer must be removed by your cooling system. Properly insulating your home will decrease this heat flow by providing an effective resistance to the flow of heat. An insulation's resistance to heat flow is measured or rated in terms of its thermal resistance, which is called "R value." The higher the R value of your insulation, the better it will resist the flow of heat from one environment to another.

How quickly will adding extra insulation pay for itself ?

If anyone tells you with precision how to calculate the payback for adding insulation to your home, dont trust them! There are so many variables that it is difficult to know exactly when your return on investment actually happens. However, attic insulation in the Dallas area definitely pays for itself and it does not take forever. While paying for itself, you will feel more comfortable in the winter and in the summer.

If you are good with formulas, the Dept of Energy website provides the following formula for a good estimate of when to expect the payback for your insulation investment. Click here.
